Brighton CarnivalBrighton Carnival burst back onto the city streets in Summer 2007 as a huge, colourful parade including hundreds of local and international performers weaved its way through the Lanes and onto Brighton seafront, culminating at Hove Lawns with a finale stage performance from Brasil's very own Monobloco. At Carnival 2008, Brighton School of Samba were crowned 'Best Large Band' winners in their first Carnival parade, and as Brighton Carnival continues to grow and become a highlight of the Brighton summer in a vibrant celebration of life, it represents a major annual focus for the Brighton School of Samba. Join Brighton School of Samba at Carnival in Summer 2009Traditionally, the School conceives a theme for the Carnival parade and develops its 'enredo' (carnival song), designs and makes costumes for all the parading sections of the School including the Bateria, Commissao de Frente, Ala Passista, Ala Baiana etc., so there are plenty of ways you can be involved with the Brighton School of Samba at Carnival 2009, including:
