ARRIVAL & SETUP CREW
=====================
For float crew please arrive no later than 7.30am for unload and build at Brunswick Terrace (see link above).

PA Crew please arrive for 8.15am to set up.

PARTICIPANT WRISTBANDS
=====================
All participants, stewards and crew require a wristband to participate in the parade. Our coordinator on-the-day for this is Patricia, (bateria, tamborim). When you arrive please make sure you contact Patricia for your participant's wristband. Thank you!

You MUST be wearing your wristband BEFORE entering the parade line up location. All participants must be wearing their wristband when entering the Promenade to line up - any participant without a wristband may be asked to leave the parade by the organisers.

*BAGS & PERSONAL ITEMS - 8.30am Arrival
=====================
We are lucky to have a van this year and we are happy to allow small bags of personal items to be stowed on the van for collection after the parade. The van will be leaving the seafront at 8.45am so any bag you do want to have stowed needs to be on the van BEFORE 8.45am.

Drum cases will be allowed on the van.

However...We are over 60 performers this year so if you are in the Bateria or a dancer, please come to the parade with only what you yourself can carry with you, instruments and all.

We do not have room for 60 individuals’ bags of changes of clothes, spare hats, lucky gonks and extra what not - please don’t be that person who brings several bags of ‘important’ extra things. Many of you will be lucky enough to be able to go home after the parade for a change of clothes - if you can, then please do and avoid bringing a bag! Better still, ask a friend or family member to meet you at the end of the parade route with your gear!

IMPORTANT: ANY BAGS PLACED ON THE VAN ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK. PLEASE DO NOT BRING VALUABLES. ALL BAGS MUST BE COLLECTED FROM THE VAN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PARADE AT THE TAKE DOWN POINT.

Float - We have ZERO room on the float for any bags, cases or personal items and none will be allowed on the float. Therefore, if you are late arriving and the van has already left, you will NOT be permitted to put any items on the float. No exceptions.

If you arrive after 8.45am with any bags that you cannot carry yourself and the van has already left, you will be asked to take your bags home and you may miss the parade.

If you can carry all that you need with you and need no items on the van, then bateria and dancers may arrive by no later than 9.30am to go to the lineup point.

GUESTS
=====================
We're welcoming several guests this year to perform with us at Pride, including participants from Leeds, Imperio de Rainha (London) & more. Welcome to you all and we hope you enjoy the spirit of Brighton School of Samba at Pride. Obrigado!

BATERIA COSTUME
=====================
A reminder that Bateria costume for the parade is as follows:

BSS BATERIA Tshirt
White trousers (no shorts, no skirts)
White Shoes or Trainers (or mostly white i.e. sports brands, coloured stripes, logos etc are ok on mostly white trainers)

GUEST BSS BATERIA TSHIRTS
=====================
If you have paid for a BSS BATERIA shirt, these are now labelled up with your name and set aside for you to collect on Saturday morning to wear for the parade at the size requested. We suggest that anyone collecting a tshirt on the day arrives in a plain white tshirt/top and wears their BSS shirt over the top.

BATERIA (MEMBERS & GUESTS) - Arrival 8.30am* - 9.30am
=====================
- Do bring a bumbag, small backpack/drawstring bag for any personal items that you can carry with you.
- Do bring a refillable water bottle pre-filled with water, with a clip, carabiner, strap or holster
- Do bring a spare stick(s)

Bring only what you can carry with you on the day, thank you! For any small bag drops on the van please arrive at 8.30am.

DANCERS - Arrival 8.30am* - 9.30am
=====================
There is no changing facilities on the seafront, so please come to the arrival point in costume, ready to parade.

If you need to bring a small bag, you may place this on the van at the Arrival point at 8.30am, and the van will be leaving at 8.45am. These must be collected directly after the parade. Items left in the van will be at your own risk.

Any personal effects (keys, phones) may be given to trusted stewards to look after but pleased bring a bag with your name on it for those items to go in. Items are given to stewards at your own risk. Alternatively, ask a member of the bateria to take your phone/keys for you.

DANCER COSTUMES
=====================
BSS Dancers to wear new blue/turquoise shimmer leotard & headdress. Arm/ankle cuffs are optional but preferable (and cost subsidised!) so we present a uniform look. BSS Dancers will perform in front of the BSS float/Bateria.

GUESTS (NON-BSS) DANCERS
=====================
Please supply your own costume, preferably with blue, turquoise, gold/yellow or silver/white featuring. All guest dancers will perform BEHIND the BSS Bateria.

STEWARDS, FLOAT PUSHERS & FIRST AID - Arrival 9.00am
=====================
All stewards and non-performers will be given a high vis jacket and tshirt to wear. Any First Aiders will be highlighted to all, and we will also have a Pride Block Steward(s) allocated to our block.

There will be a briefing to all stewards and non-performers at 9.30am at our lineup point at to outline all roles and expectations on the day.

IMPORTANT: If there are any incidents (illness, lost children wandering into our group, fire, undesirables being annoying etc. we need to first inform the block steward. If our stewards can't deal with a first aid matter, or if there is a life threatening emergency, stewards are to inform the block steward first rather than calling 999 as St John’s ambulance crews will be on hand whereas a 999 call out ambulance will not be able to reach us, due to road blocks and crowds.

FOOD & DRINK
=====================
IMPORTANT - We ask that all performers bring their own individual, refillable water bottle - on a carabiner, strap, holster or any means by which you can carry your own bottle. Please bring it already filled with water! Dancers bring a bottle to give to a steward with your name on, or easily recognisable.

We will provide everyone with ~500ml water during the parade, refilling your bottle. Snack bars will be given out at rest points, and water refills will be provided en route on request, plus during organised breaks in playing. If you have food allergies, please provide your own snacks.

Please - no smoking, drinking alcohol (including low alcohol drinks) or taking drugs whilst on the parade. If caught you may be asked to leave the parade by the organisers.

TOILETS
=====================
There will be portaloo cabins at Hove Lawns close to the parade lineup/starting points. On the route itself, there are no official toilet stops.

We appreciate that if you gotta go, you gotta go! If you need to leave the parade route for this, or any other reason, please take your instrument or costume elements with you. The parade will not be able to stop but we hope you will be able to catch us up later in the parade or at the post-parade venue.

PRIDE PARADE
=====================
Brighton Pride is one of the largest in the country and any wet weather will not lessen the crowds too much. Above all else - we want you to be yourself and enjoy the parade. Smile, bring your energy, and don't worry if you make a mistake. Wear Sunscreen!

We will be on our feet from arrival til the parade ends at around 2.30pm, so do make sure you are fed and watered well, both on the night before and on the morning of the parade.

POST-PARADE
=====================
We have arranged a post-parade venue extremely close to the end point of the parade this year, at The Cleveland Arms pub, Cleveland Road, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 6FF.

Before we leave the end point, we will be taking parade group photos, so please stick around for the annual group photo!

We will need to take down the float, PA and have it all packed and transported away during this post-parade time - if you cannot stick around after the parade please do see if there is anything that needs doing before you leave.

THE PEOPLE'S PERCUSSION PARTY (a.k.a Renegade Samba!)
Time: 8.30pm til late...
=====================
We expect to head back into town to create our annual samba street party on New Road from 8.30pm for more samba, with more friends and guests to join us and a free-spirited samba session until late.
